I've had a lot of down time with the kids and I getting through the flu and I have taken a little time to reflect in thought, but I wanted to do it in writing as well....
I am SO thankful for a husband that loves God -doesn't mean marriage isn't work, but I'm thankful we are working toward the same goals.
For the experience of having children.
For all the worldly comforts that are easy to take for granted.
Making the choice to stay home with my babes -- even the most challenging of days I still wouldn't change it.
For the tough days that remind me that I have it pretty darn good.
Small illness that reminds me to pray for those who have to deal with more.
For the Holy Spirit and the times that I listen before it is too late.
Blogs -- I find so much encouragement from seeing what other parents are going through.
Bible Study - something I never understood when I was young, but how exciting it is and how much joy you can get out of it.
DVR - when you are suffering from insomnia and need something to do at 3 am (aka TIVO).
Sunshine - it is amazingly refreshing when you have felt so low on energy!
Orange Juice and tea - they really make me feel better. :-)
My kid's laughter - it has the power to change my mood quicker than anything else!
For a loving God who can show me my faults and short comings over and over and yet do it in a way that makes me want to grow and change and not in a way that makes me feel condemned or lost.
Thank you Lord for all these things and for helping me to see the silver linings even when I didn't feel like it!!

My little Mister and his darling Sister
I'm going to preface this post with the acknowledgement that these kinds of things are probably not as heartwarming to everyone else as they are to the parents and grandparents of the particular children involved, but because my blog is basically a scrapbook for my kids and a way for me to remember cute things that I know will escape me in 5 minutes if I don't put them down somewhere here goes....
Scenes and conversations I've witnessed between my little mister (4 years old) and his baby sister (1 year old):
Yesterday he put his Lightning McQueen sunglasses on her and yelled to get my attention -- "see how darling her looks in my sunglasses?"
She was trying to climb up her highchair and fell down and he rushed over to her and picked her up and said "it's OK baby big bro will hold you!"
He learned somewhere about banana peel humor and I came out to find him entertaining Jessa by pretending to slip and fall on one in my kitchen. She was chuckling so hard it was a riot! He definitely has a built in audience with this girl!
This is the stage with Jack where so much of what he says just really cracks us up.. for those who don't like potty humor you'll have to forgive, but the other day after he went to the bathroom he told me that "it's a whole family of poops" through some further questioning I discovered this to mean that there were 4 different pieces that he had decided were a mom, a dad, a brother, and a sister... ay yi yi!!
We were driving home from a play date and decided to surprise daddy with a coffee and as I was pulling out I noticed a cop...Jackson usually likes to drive fast and was prodding me to do so when I informed him that now wasn't a good time for that. He said it would be fine because he would say "Police Officer...please don't give us a ticket" showing me the sweet voice and face he would use. I said that it just might work, but that I wasn't about to test it to which he replied "just let me try it once pppllllleeeeaasseee!" As hard as it was to resist I didn't fall for it!!
Jason and I were discussing funny Jackson stories from the day and he was within earshot -- showing just how easy we are to predict he piped in with "you guys can call your parents and tell them that" think we've done that a few too many times?
He says "uuggg" all the time and informed me that he says that because Charlie Brown does.
He shared with me one day that "dad drives perfect and you drive crazy" excuse me?? I have never done crazy things with my children in the car and am convinced that his dad put him up to this comment!!
I always get after him for having pee dribbles in his underwear and asked him "what is with this?" to which he responded "I don't know..I guess I'm just a pee in your pants kinda guy"... what? did my son really just say that to me?
So I know this is getting long... just wanted to add that I am going to try hard to get a video of this, but he is OBSESSED with the song.. "Great Balls of Fire" only the tiny part that I know (probably from Top Gun), none the less he will sing it over and over until as he puts it "mom's brain is about to fall out"
Well I hope you enjoyed the latest humorous incidents in my home and I am sure there will be more to come.........
